Japanese animation is an awesome field of art. Its polluted with lots of amateur and kiddy things but these are the MUST SEE movies/shows if you want to put your toe into this area.
Ghost in the Shell
Cowboy Bebop
Akira
Ninja Scrolls
Everything from Studio Ghibli. Hayao Miyazaki is a PEERLESS story teller and artist especially in this day and age. His creativity and brilliance is boundless.
The stories in these selections are unparalleled any where. Hollywood's creativity died long ago, and oddly enough many of these movies/shows are many years old.

If anybody has a few days to kill you should watch One Piece, or read the manga for some epic fun. Moving away from the kid shows, GTO (great teacher onizuka) is one of the funniest things you will ever see. The anime was great, the manga was incredible and the live action version superb.

I had to get some sleep, so I can go back to work today, even though I am still running 102F fever. I will watch 7 and 8 tonight. Quote:

Just finished Samurai Champloo buy the same people as Bebop. Not bad, but no Bebop. Looked great on Blu-ray though.
