Fred Miranda totally ticks me off!

No matter how I try to login... it says "invalid". But when I ask for it to send me a new password email, it just goes to another page and NEVER sends me an email.

So... I thought, I'll use one of my myriad of email accounts an re-register. I've tried and tried and tried and ALWAYS get "You've already registered".

And there's no way to contact an administrator or anyone AT ALL. This is not just today... this has been over the course of about three YEARS!

FM is great, from what I understand, but their site technical problems SUCK!

That happened to me a long time ago. I never was able to register again, so I just gave up.

They don't allow free e-mail services like Yahoo, Gmail, etc.
I had changed e-mail addresses since I had joined there (new ISP).

I couldn't get a hold of anyone either.
I had to sign up again with a different user name.

I've done all of that.

And I'm not using any *free* email to register either.

I can use an email address that FM has never seen before, a completely unique username, with any brower (FF, IE, Chrome), with everything (cache, cookies, etc.) completely deleted... and it still says, "You've already registered."

Have you ever been banned from the site? I have and this is exactly what happens when you get banned.

The thing is that you can get banned and not even know it, as you don't get any message saying that you have been banned.

The only way around it is to use an email account from a totally different domain, and sometimes that doesn't work.

If you know anyone else who has an active account have them search for your user name and see if it's Xed out.

Not a FM fan... the few times I have checked over there... photogs seem to be proud of their gear (as far as pricing goes...). Bought a few times on POTN, but MUY happy here at TPF.

I administer a board similar to that. It is possible that an IP address similar to yours was causing a problem. That users IP, with a wild card character at the end could have been banned. Because of the wild cards placement, your IP could have been included in the ban. In our case, the person is advised though, of the action.
