Ok, read thru the pabulum and the law on this one here along with both news articles and this is what I see:
First- teenage girls playing sports in a PUBLIC PARK- not on a school field but an open public park.
Two- something about flashcards/computer and magazines- one were the contents of the cards and computer (we can assume laptop) hidden in any manner and if the guy was a pro (we don't know his background at all here other than age and name) he may have nude photos of legal age models with full releases on said items that are not pornography but just nude along with non-nudes of the same models in sports attire. ALSO were the magazines in open view or just happen to be in the vehicle that that time? Are we talking about major distribution rags (ie Hustler/Playboy/Penthouse or some hard core porn rags with younger models?)

Three: Was he trying to hide his intent/act of photography or was he out in the open shooting away?

How long was he at the park? Was he approached as to what he was doing? (before the cops were called) It was noted in the article that he has been seen there before taking photos.

Really if it was me in this guys case I would have the ACLU and the PPA all over this case and getting the guy some just compensation.

BTW did the cops get a search warrant before entering his car? What about to access the laptop? Each Memory Card? Each DVD ?

Really also does a person in a public park have to give consent to be photographed? THEY WERE IN A PUBLIC PARK!

If Momma and Pops are so worried about their kidos being photographed in a public park maybe they need to practice at a private facility with armed guards!

Just out of curiousity, what part do you think PPA could play?

PPA stands up for photographers rights to shoot photos in public places and since he was not doing something obscene like upskirts but just shooting a public sporting event/practice they would stand behind a member (if he is one).

How would they do that? Do you think they would send an attorney to defend him? Not. PPA wouldn't touch it with a 10' pole. Call them and ask.
