No more scoopin' poop for me! - 01-20-2010, 12:57 PM

We got three kittens a few weeks ago who can fill up a litterbox faster than you can say "cheese!"

Anyway, we just had to do something about cleaning out that horrible thing so I thought of spending $$$ to buy one of those automated ones but then you've still got to invest in filters and liners all the time.

Instead we found the coolest thing ever that's so easy to clean out (without touching anything) that we don't mind doing it 2-3 times a day. It's called a Roll'n Clean by Omega. You just roll the curved lidded box upside down and back again and everything is collected in a pull-out drawer. Paid around $35 for it at Petco. WELL WORTH IT!!!

Here's the link: Roll'n Clean Large Litter Box

Interesting. We'll check it out. Three cats here, and they are a chore!

With three cats, do you have 4 of those things? The recommendation is to have [num_cats + 1] litterboxes.

We don't have too clean one anymore! We trained our cat to go outside like our dogs do LOL! That does look pretty cool though.

Here is a better solution that means you never have to do anything:

Cat Genie

Works great and very clean, odor free.

The problem with most self-cleaners is they don't get out the small particles. I find myself running the litter through a fine screen material to remove the small particles of waste.

The problem with the Cat Genie is you can't put the litter box anywhere. It has to be close to the outlets to make it work.

I did see one in the invention stage that looked promising but I would imagine it will cost over $100. It was very high-tech but mechanical so it could be placed anywhere.

From the bottom of my heart, I thank all of you for not posting photos.

We are a one-dog/no-cat family at the moment. There's a utility easement behind our yard, so when Max (pictured at left) goes, I shovel it over the back fence. Usually, though, he goes while we're on walks so I get to bag it and carry it home. Actually makes a litter box a more civilized option.

Our cats and dogs are ceramic. No feed bills, no litter problem, no shedding problem, no barking or meowing at odd hours of the day or night. Very obedient and they stay out of the way.

But ceramic is usually cold and provides no unconditional love!

The new 120 SaniSolution Cartridge is biodegradable and recyclable (unlike cat litter, which is neither).
Uhh...cat litter is generally bentonite clay - IOW, dirt. Dirt is already biodegraded as far as it's going to get.
