as ex Navy, as well as a dependant of retired Navy...it doesn't get any easier, and it's harder on the kids than you think. You think you've got it bad with work and people? If you don't like the job, or you don't like the people you don't have to work there. Your child doesn't get that option. They have to go to school. Whether they like the school or the other students, or the teachers etc. they HAVE to be there. Let me tell you...I hated 2 of the 4 High Schools I attended, and I didn't like any of the kids I went to school with. Please do more to make it better for your child than worrying about your current job and that YOU don't like the idea of moving to Washington.

I was an Army brat I learned to love to move! I miss it these days...

My brother and his wife are stationed in Oregon and they love that part of the country.

As far as schools are concerned I mostly went to schools that had other military kids in it. It wasn't that hard to make new friends when all the other kids are in the same situation. But do stay until school is finished, I would say put your footdown and let you child finish the year here in Tejas!!!!!

Oh yeah buy lots of Fajitas and tortillas for the freezer cause its not something you find all the time up there...

While I feel your pain I also wish I was in your shoes, so smile and take what life dishes out cause you are gonna have a blast there (even with all that rain).

My brother was born in Tacoma Wa. and I remember running and playing in the dense grass when I was just a youngster.

That is the reason why the kids and I are staying here until June and my husband is leaving when his report date is. This particular move will not be bad at all for my kids. I dont know about how the schools will be, but my husband has a LOT of family up there and there will be no shortage of kids for my daughter to play with. She's never lived near family and she loves family.
