Super Bowl Photogs - one got it, one didn't - 01-29-2010, 01:51 PM

Fantastic 8 minute piece on two photographers in the right place at the right time when Pittsburgh's Santonio Holms made the game winning catch at the Super Bowl last year.

One photog got the shot, one didn't and they both talk about it.

If you like shooting sports, this is very informative and a fun watch.

Awesome video. I don't think Streeter would have got the shot even if the Cardinals player wouldn't have steam rolled him.....

As an aside -- for a sports photog what would be your five top dream assignments? The ones that you dream to be able to cover in your lifetime?

for me:
1 - summer olympics
2 - superbowl
3 - final 4
4 - Ironman in Hawaii
5 - World Series

Nevermind -- I'll take care of it myself!

Interesting video. Although I'm not sure why they seem to imply that his not getting the shot had anything to do with getting hit by the defender. The play was already over by that point; he didn't get the shot because he didn't get his short-lens camera up quickly enough. Unless I'm misunderstanding the whole thing.

It's to show how the Photo Gods chose to smite him.

He missed a once-in-a-lifetime shot that was right in front of him, so they chose to punish him by having a NFL player knock him backwards on his butt, sending his 400 flying.

Adding insult to injury.

Cuz that's how they roll.
