Doesn't mean that the officer in question couldn't have done that in this situation. One thing everyone needs to keep in mind is is that there are two sides to every story...and somewhere in the middle is the real truth. Cops aren't perfect and neither is every driver on the road. Luckily you have a method to address the citation and the behavior of the officer. Good luck.
Since I filed a complaint I am working with IA instead of her or her super..

This is an issue that has been ongoing for around 3 years here in West Fort Worth not just to me but other residents. The previous chief issued a memo to all westside officers to start making more traffic stops or face disciplinary action. Some officers leaked this memo to the Star-Telegram who asked the chief why. His response was to check for criminal activity.

Both reasons are violations of law.

The practice has continued..

my grandpa is a retired P.O., and even he would say he hates cops that do this crap, if you had both plates on, she couldn't see it, pulled you over, and you DID have it, she should have said "I was wrong, have a nice day"

they pulled you over for no reason, to generate revenue, to keep cops working

I have 2 Uncles who are retired officers who would agree with your Grandpa.. I was involved in law enforcement while in the Navy as a photographer.

There are more good police officers than bad. The problem is the bad ones make the good ones look bad just because they wear the same uniform..

Nice way to lump every FTW officer into a catogory with your title.

You don't like it when police stereotype, but you don't see a problem with doing it.

Quotas are a fact of life.

ALL patrol officers are required to write so many tickets per month.

Why do you think we see police monitoring traffic more so toward the end of the month??

So I'm not stereotyping.

Show me where they are required.

You have a perception of the "end of the month phenomenon". There are no added extra assignments at the end of the month.

Patrol officers are not required to write citations period. I have one officer that works for me that wrote one ticket in a six month period. He recieved no discipline.

I guide my officers to issue citations for the important stuff like hazardous violations (running red lights/stop signs), no driver's license, and no insurance.

I'm sorry if you had a bad experience with a rookie officer, but to lump everyone in the same catagory is wrong.

Post up a pic of the vehicle/plate in question (feel free to 'shop out the plate numbers/letters).

Just because you say it is displayed propery, doesn't make it so.

This isn't adding up, and I am not persuaded to beware of FTW PD because of an alledged quota based on your post.

Colyn,
What purpose does it serve to make a bunch of photographers who live in Texas wary of the FT police? You were alleging a quota when FWPD IA informed you of no such thing, and you had a supervisor involved...and that she was on her 3rd week OTJ; a NOOB. All those posts were within the span of 30 minutes. You had all those facts within minutes (or prior) to your first post.
Are you just extra grumpy and immediately copped an attitude, resulting in the turn of events? I agree with another on this thread and wonder aloud if there is not a whole lot more to this story.

BOOM!!! There you have it. She's a rookie. Rookie cops are always the worst because they all think they can single handedly change the world.
They're always the ones that get in the super crazy high speed chases through school zones, because they don't understand that sometimes backing off is the better choice.
Once they're on the job for a couple of years, they learn that sometimes when fishing, you have to let the little ones go to catch the big ones.

Tickets do have a tendency to ruin one's day. I can't believe a cop is wasting time with such petty issues when dangerous criminals are rampant elsewhere.

Beware.....plenty of radar on I-20 most EVERYDAY from west Arlington to Campus drive in Fort Worth.

You are simply wrong on this point.

There are plenty of ways to encourage traffic enforcement among the troops without requiring quotas and they simply aren't a part of modern policing. Maybe in some small towns somewhere, but I will guarantee that you will not find quotas in FW, Dallas or other metro agencies.
