The Science Museum has been completely rebuilt and modernized. The IMAX is still there but everything else is new and terrific. Better than ever, and the kids just love everything.

Ft. Worth... by a VERY wide margin! And I'm on the Dallas side of the metroplex so that's saying something.

It is saying that the Dallas Zoo is a sad specimen of a zoo especially for a city of Dallas's caliber.

It's a long way from CC to DFW. Nothing against the Ft. Worth Zoo (yes, it's better), but might I suggest the Gladys Porter Zoo in Brownsville if you've never been there.

PS: Not to be picky, but it is the San Antonio Zoo, not the "Brackenridge" Zoo.

Yes, it is a very sad example of a zoo. I took a friend and his family there in November and I was embarrased that I took them there. Ridiculous!

The Fort Worth Stockyards are a lot of fun, too, especially if you can catch the ceremonial bull herding down the street. Also, in the summer the livestock maze and other outdoor attractions are a little more fun. There's a full-size vintage train ride to Grapevine and back, but it's not all that cheap.

Ft Worth Zoo is the better zoo, by a long shot. I have been to quite a few zoos around the country, including San Diego, the National Zoo in Washington, DC, and I have to say that the Ft Worth Zoo is extremely good in all aspects - great exhibits, a wide variety of animals, excellent sight lines for photography. The Dallas Zoo has improved greatly over the last several years but is far behind Ft Worth. Suffice it to say, being owned and run by the city of Dallas has not really helped the Dallas Zoo, but held it back.

Has anything run by the City of Dallas been improved?

I mean they upgraded Cotton Bowl 10 years too late... the village idiots (city council) are still mad at the good things done in the early 2000s' and is why the downtown area continues to loose business.

Ft Worth Zoo gets my vote as well. It is a pretty nice zoo.
