Congressman Charlie Wilson (Charlie Wilson's War), died in Lufkin today. His mother was one of my grandmother's bridesmaids. I'll never forget my grandmother talking disgustedly about one of Charlie's "Hoochie Kootchie Girls". RIP Charlie Wilson, a great character, a patriotic American, and one heck of a party animal.... Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO!! what a ride!" I think Mr. Wilson did a pretty good job of that... |
