If you're a police radio scanner person, check this out.

New Orleans Police - Special Events and Emergencies Only Live Scanner Audio Feed

Its a live feed of the NOPD.

You can also listen to police departments from around the nation, and other countries as well.

I've been on it for some time now. I work in one of the towers at the Galleria and it got interesting a few weeks ago when a couple of people we assaulted in the parking structure.

I also have a pretty good view of 635 & I've caught a few chases and a perp with a handgun holed up in one of the apartment complexes on Monfort.

I thought about buying a portable scanner to have in the truck & possibly catch some action when I'm on the road.

More interesting than most of the local PD's plus no static.
It's sometimes hard to understand the 'Nawlins' accents.

Not everyday you get a call " anybody seen the urban cowboys or the buffalo soldiers ". "no, I'm lookin for the cajun cowboys".

Last night they had the interstate shut down because there was 'brain matter on 'da highway.' And they had a Toyota Camry that fell from the 7th floor to the 6th floor of the parking garage and landed on a Ford Explorer. It was quite an interesting night really. I had fun with it because I know the French Quarter so when they gave out locations I could visualize where they were.

These are probably gangs. Ever since Katrina, New Orleans has been more gang infested than ever. When we went in 2006, the Mounted Patrol was standing on the end of Bourbon, and one side of the street had been 'claimed' by one gang, and the other side of the street was a different gang.
