How's Big Bend to visit in September? If I go I will be staying in a lodge most of the night. Might do one or two nights camping..

I went last October and it was great! Great temperatures and lots of wildlife. August and September is rainy season in Big Bend, so you catch some great clouds around your mountains ...

Last time I hiked the South Rim was November 2000. The weather was perfect. Not hot during the day, and cold enough at night to make for good sleeping in the tent.

I'm trying to plan a trip back there myself for this year.

I stumbled across that site while I was at work today. Will def do some reading. I really need to sit down and plan out what I want to do. I know there are all kinda tours I can take. Since I'm going alone, I do need to watch out with what I'm doing (ie: going off hiking).

If you tell them at Big Bend Chat what you have in mind, you will get some great suggestions!
