Family Archive Question - 02-28-2010, 11:14 PM

Hi,
I am looking for the best place to get family archiving guidance, either free or paid service. I was told that I could ask this forum for direction. Currently I have around 2,000 letters and 4,000 - 5,000 photographs (80% b&w). We would like to digitalize these items and pull them together in the most efficient manner.

Therefore, we are looking to see if there are professionals or services that work with families? We have scanned the websites and do not see much detailed information on the best way to handle this project.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Lin

I can recommend ScanCafe.com for the photographs. For the letters, buy an $80 scanner and do them yourself. And if your photographs are not in film/negative form, you can scan those yourself too. Of course, if you just don't feel like doing it yourself I understand.

Oh, and look online... you can find free avatars everywhere!

Also, look at the archival boxes, albums, glues and other materials at lightimpressionsdirect.com
