Just saw that on the news. Didn't realize it was the entire block though. I thought it was just the Hurricane Grill.

I can't say I ever patronized Hurricane Grill, but losing Terilli's and Greenville Avenue Bar & Grill....those are just institutions on lower Greenville. Very, very sad. And I really feel for all the employees who just lost jobs in the blink of an eye.

This may be way off base, but there always seems to be a high frequency of fires in and around bars/restaurants. I can remember a little hole-in-the-wall place on sixth street in Austin called "the Cactus Room" that burned mysteriously. The owner had insurance (luckily) and he was able to rebuild the place that we know today as "Iron Cactus" which has been very successful. Funny how things work out like that.

yeah. i wouldn't make sense to me for it to be arson, since the st pats day parade is next weekend and that always draws a -huge- crowd. but i know what you're saying in general. the arson team showed up when i got there.

What is up with stuff burning down on Greenville! Seems like just yesterday there was that fire that destroyed the old movie theater on Greenville.

That happened here in Houston too where an entire block and some old restaurants were wiped out. Makes you wonder.

Two guys are sitting on a beach and get to talking. One asks the other, what do you do? He replied, Oh. "I'm retired, my business caught on fire and I collected 4 million from the insurace, so I just retired, what about you. The 2nd guy replied, well much like you, a flood wiped out my business and the insurance company paid me 20 million, so I retired.
Things were quite for a while and then the first guys leans over and quitely asks " Say, how do you start a flood"
