Then last night, a friend and I converted it to EOS...

Craigslist! $140 for a $400 lens!

Here are a few pics of the mount, and the lens on the 40D. I'll post the first pics with the lens in a few minutes... :)

First pics with the Rokkor 58/1.2 on the 40D...

I still have to get the hang of this lens, but I will say, I am already in love. This lens feels like it was made for me. It's awesome! It is a true Bokeh Master...

Again, I. Am. In. Love.

Looks like you are already putting out some sweet shots with the new lens.....the bokeh looks terrific....as does the crisp detail.

I used to look multiple times a day, every day for this lens, and it never got posted. I looked for the first time in months yesterday, and there it was. I had it by lunch... :)

Of course you can check it out. You're in Austin, so lets get lunch sometime... :)

I love those shots. That was fun and a little nerve racking to use a drill on a lens

Does your conversion focus to infinity?

I realized yesterday that it does not. I shoot within about 30 feet or so for portraits, so I didn't notice at first. I look into it though. We just need to shave the spacer a tiny bit more, and then it will have infinity focus. Will take about 10 minutes and cost nothing... :)

Ok, one more. That Bokeh @ F2 is incredible. The red is a Coke can that is *maybe* 6 inches behind the Monster, if that. I'll post a pic showing how close they are...

40D - 1/125 - ISO 640 - F/2

This shows the distance. Just awesome!
On a side note; I am way impressed with this 40D. This pic is shot @ ISO 1600, and is posted with NO sharpening or noise reduction. Not bad at all, especially considering the horrible lighting...

40D - 1/125 - f/5.6 - ISO 1600

How do you get 6400 on a 40D?

that is a great lens. i sold my whole system with 3 other Rokkor lenses plus that lens for $200 even before digital started. wish now that i could go back in time and get it back.

great to hear that you got positive comments on a piece of glass that is a non Canon .
