Melissa, thank you so much for your good help this morning, rain and all! Without your assistance it would have been difficult or impossible to deal with the large reflector and also the strobe under the rain! Much appreciated!
And I hope you got some helpful experience out of the session.
Here are some samples:
#1. High key portrait with ambient light. The key light was provided by a 4x6 ft reflector Melissa was holding in front of the model with light coming from behind mostly. I like the way the light from behind is kissing the model's right cheek.
#2 This is the same location, but now Derrick is facing the light - the key light is coming from an opening right in front of him. There is additional light coming from his left and his right. No reflector was used for this one.
#3 Lifestyle portrait, with light coming from the left, in front of the model and also behind him. Melissa is holding a reflector to camera right.
#4 The model is getting flat lighting from the front, and also some from his back. I liked the tone of the reflections on the window, camera right. No reflector was used.
#5 This is next to the Frisco Museum, an old cabin that's been reconstructed. The day was very cloudy and rainy, but I wanted to get the feel of sunset. Light was provided by a 1,200 ws strobe about 12 ft from the model, with a 7 in. reflector and a full cut of CTO gel. Camera WB was set to daylight. The gelled strobe, with its semi-harsh light produces the effect of sunset.
