Yeah, when I am shooting a wedding, I really don't want to miss anything. You gotta do what you gotta do. Under no circumstances can you miss the shot.

Kind of a smelly topic, lol... but I think this is true for the top level pro cyclist, marathoners and pro's doing ironmans who end up with stomach problems... like some have mentioned.... But think about it... it is not like in football or baseball where they can call a timeout and run to the locker room.

Guys can pee from the bike(away from themselves) while riding, but more often they pull over.... Girls pull over and find weeds, I've seen times where the whole pack will pull over for a 'nature break'.

Actually if you watch the tour coverage long enough, sometimes you can see the guys pulling off the road, usually the camera will then pan away, but you can tell what is happening.

I've always thought there was something wrong with hardcore bikers. Having lived in Palo Alto, CA bikers there are a bread all their own. The fact that she felt she needed to ask someone what to do is strange.

If her story is true, sounds like she was a complete newb on a training ride who was just trying to keep up. Nobody serious about road biking is gonna eat all that crap at once during a ride (mountain bikers/downhillers are a different story, maybe).

Organized rides, such as the Hotter N Hell Hundred and the MS 150s have regular pit stops for participants. The HHH has rest stops/restrooms every 10 miles, and part of the route is developed so that a pooper can usually be located in an emergency between stops. From experience, what I found is that it's hard to ride 100 miles on nothing but cookies, bananas and Gatorade. Next time I'm packing a turkey sandwich or something. But as for relief, I find it in private whether at a rest stop or natural cover.

I agree she probably didn't eat or drink the right stuff!! Turkey would be good, it has that tryptophan in it which is good for your brain and body..and water should be the best thing to drink in a long race or ride like that..I know on a good day for me tamales are sompin I wanna be home the next day for lol...any mexican type food actually ;)

From what I've heard, it is not uncommon for pro football players to pee and mess in their pants on purpose. It's supposed to de-motivate their opposition from wanting to tackle/stay too close to them.
