Went to a burger joint the other day and they said that their supplier of tomatoes ran dry and there were no tomatoes for burgers. I walked out.

I just dumped another cubic yard of compost in my back yard. That makes about 3 cubic yards of stuff that I've put on top of a thick plastic sheet for my back yard garden. I have about 250 square feet of 6-inch deep soil (Miracle Gro Garden Soil, compost, 240 lbs of expanded shale, topsoil, manure) resting on a 500 square-foot white plastic sheet. This is my main in-ground garden. I also have the hanging garden, and a container garden, besides the flower beds. Due to economic conditions, I need to focus on tomatoes, but I also have blueberries (3 kinds), blackberries, raspberries, strawberries (3 kinds), bell peppers, hot peppers, potatoes (3 kinds), corn (3 kinds), carrots, squash (several kinds), melons, spinach and several types of herbs. I don't know how to grow most of this stuff, so this is all a big experiment.

Oh, I'm also hoping to install a hydroponic system inside my house, particularly in the master bathroom (in the bathtub, which I don't use). If I get the chance, I would like to put in a small pond to collect rain water, allow me to swim and maybe stock koi. I'm already able to collect about 275 gallons of rainwater.

I wouldn't call it dumb. I do think you need to straighten the photo...and the sky is a bit blown out...and I'm not terribly fond of the composition...but keep trying to get the shot and I'm sure you can come up with a winner.

Yep, it's looking like you're well on your way to becoming "that house". Every neighborhood has one.

For your pond, forget the koi. Hello... can you say farm-raised catfish?
