Abandoned Railroad Bridge Exposed - 03-16-2010, 10:19 PM

I've enjoyed shooting an abandoned railroad bridge for the last year or so. Now, development is moving into the area, in the form of a mixed-use nature trail. For those of you who have asked me where this bridge is located, it won't be so secretive, anymore. If the weather holds up, the construction for the new 12-foot wide concrete hike-and-bike trail should be complete within 90 days. The bridge is clearly visible from this trail, unless the foliage on the trees is dense.

Rats! I'm still wanting to pose nudes on this bridge!

At least I have the word of the construction teams that the bridge is going to remain intact, for now. Ownership of the bridge was transferred to DART, and they are expected to demolish the bridge, eventually. That plan has been tied up for a few years, and doesn't look to be resolved in the near future. But, the bridge's days are getting short.

Those are good - the second one would be a good candidate for B&W effects.

Thank you. A few other photographers on this forum have suggested that to me, too. Perhaps I will try it.

Anybody want to make a trip to this bridge, while it is still standing?
