If someone was trying to off me, they'd just need to disguise the atomic pepper in a taco, burrito, tamale or enchilada. I'd be a goner.

Some of my former co-workers used to have a hot pepper recipe day every Wednesday. They ordered the hottest peppers from around the world and put them into recipes that they would then sample at work. Thanks to their efforts, I've eaten ghost peppers. I'm very careful about anything that I eat from them.

I've not tasted the "ghost" chiles, but I love habañeros. Yeah, habs have heat, but also great flavor. I wonder what the flavor of the "ghosts" is like.

We make various concoctions around here using habañeros. Our homemade Thanksgiving cranberry sauce is loaded with habs, and we also make a habañero/peach preserve. Probably the favorite though is our American cheese/tomato/habañero omelet. Then there's salsas.........................

It tastes like PAIN!

When these get so hot, I can't really taste anything. Even when they aren't hot (highly diluted), they don't have much taste to them. My tongue felt like it had been burned, like from too-hot soup, even absent the burning of the pepper.
