I don't think that the viewer gets to see that part of the altercation, as it seems the video started shooting after the "original" incident happened.

If I were to guess, I'd say that this was filmed late at night on St Patrick's Day (aka. Amateur Drinking Night) after the bars were closed and this guy was intoxicated and felt slighted in some way because the place was busy with the flood of after-hours drunkards.
