Today I took my nephew fishing in our neighborhood pond. Neither of us have ever fished there, and this was the first time he had ever used a spinning rod.

I gave him a quick tutorial on the bank, he picked out his bait (an artificial salamander), and on his first cast he caught this fish.

That's a nice fish. I need to come up to Frisco and throw a line in. I have fond childhood memories of endless summer days fishing with my close friend back in southern IN. Interestingly, we both now live in north Texas.

No, this is near the White Rock Creek headwaters in a private pond in my neighborhood.
