I attended the free Bancroft Family Concert at the Dallas Art Museum, today. Afterward, I stopped at the Trammell Crow building, to shoot photos of sculptures of naked women outdoors. As I came around one corner of the building, the wind picked up so much that I thought I was just about to come straight up off the ground. I thrust down my arms to help me keep my balance, when, suddenly, the 3x5 note cards in my shirt pocket were sucked up into the air. It sounded like a giant vacuum cleaner sucked them out of my pocket. In a moment, they raced past a cornice, 50 feet over my head.
Those note cards are my memory. I was able to recover 3 cards, but I lost all my phone numbers. I spent about 2 hours searching over 4 city blocks for my cards. | | | | | Sponsored Links | Premium Members do not see Google advertisements. SIGN UP today and help support our community.

I noticed several young women wearing flowing dresses and going into the A.H. Belo House across the street had Marilyn Monroe moments.

Yeah, it was crazy! I was up in Denison and it was blowing pretty hard.
On the way back down 75, it was blowing really hard... moved my full-size pickup well out of the lane a few times.

my little whirly gig is not located per spec (8' above nearest obstruction) so by all means accuracy suffers but someday i have a dream to get proper readings

Originally Posted by CaptainTom Another useless thread......without Marilyn Monroe style pictures | I tried, I really did! But, women move a lot faster when their skirts blow up past their waist in real life than they do in the movies. It's hard to hold the camera steady and focus through that.
I happened to walk up to some women who were just arriving at the Belo Mansion, in time to hear the one woman excitedly telling her friend that her skirt keeps blowing up in this wind. Just then, her skirt blew up, revealing a nice set of legs. Faster than I could move, she had her hands around her hemline and her ankles. "See what I mean!" she exclaimed. I continued walking past them, acting nonchalant, but I still heard her friend encouraging her, "Just walk! Let's just walk!" And they both skittered inside.
Eventually, curiosity got the better of me, and I had nothing else to do, so I wandered inside. I found a column of people, 3 across and extending into another room, directly in front of me. That way was impassable, so I wandered around to the Pavilion in the back of the Mansion. I found fewer people in there, but a pair of uniformed police officers were watching everything. When I wandered around inside a bit more, a police officer retrieved me and escorted me out of the building. He did, at least, inform me that the people were present for two private weddings, one in front and one in back. I may have seen one of the brides, posing for photos over at the Dallas Museum of Art. She was beautiful, her dress was beautiful, the backgrounds and compositions chosen for her were beautiful and her wedding photos are going to beautiful.
