I really wish I was a lot more intelligent in photography... but unforgivably I am not there.
I am however very good with fish, aquariums and knowing people who are also. The crux is that most are terrible with cameras... in all honesty, lighting the subjects and everything make it a difficult hobby to shoot. Not to mention, 95% of the people do not have much gear to shoot with.
I have started up my own forum, helped starting one of the largest in the DFW area, part of a few national forums. I know a number of people who are very interested in learning to take better pictures....and most are not good. Everyone who would be here are not good with cameras or basic ideas of how to shoot....
My question, would be, what is the best method to teach or help to learn to take better photos? Is there someone who would be willing to sit down with a number of people and talk about it, even better would someone be willing show how to take some pictures.
I have 15-20 tanks setup at any given time, and would be willing to host something and even pay for some time(really I have not idea what it would cost but I might swing something, keep in mind this is purely a hobby thing and I am looking to help others, as well as myself). I am not looking for a hand out, I can provide beverage, food, etc....
What kind of thing would you be looking at...
Light is very strange, anywhere from 3000k to 15000k, water makes a whole different element.
Subjects are not really lit, and are moving.
Backgrounds are always different.... most of mine are black but the question will come up.
Equipment is not going to be the best.... I would guess 95% are Point and Shoot.
Am I asking for something impossible? Something that someone would be interested in? Really I am looking for a starting point. |
