Im sorry if this is posted in the wrong section, I had no idea where to post this. I know almost nothing about photography, and I hope that doesnt upset anyone here. My girlfriend and I recently moved to Houston and in the process came upon a few disposable cameras. They are all expired, the oldest having expired in July of 2006, and others expired more recently in 2009. They have been stored indoors in our closet the last 5 or so years and we would really like to get them developed because they contain pictures of our dog (more like child) when he was a puppy. Our issue is not only the age of the film, but what else may be on the cameras. The oldest cameras are from back when we were in college together, when we got the dog, and I have reason to suspect there may be a few nude shots in the mix on one of the cameras. My questions are, can film of this age be developed properly with good results? And where, if any, is a legitimate (not Walmart) photoshop in Houston that can properly develop, print and post to a CD all of my pictures? My girlfriend is very wary of sending what could be nude photos of her to some high school kid at Walmart or Target. Any help is much appreciated...Thanks | | | | | Sponsored Links | Premium Members do not see Google advertisements. SIGN UP today and help support our community.

As a former Walmart Photo worker......send it through the drop off service not the one hour. A computer does those and should develop all of them.
As for the quality, there are many variables....develop them and see.

Try Houston Camera Exchange on Richmond. I have a friend that used to do all of his "special" film there before he converted to the digital side.

If you have access to a film scanner, go to Walgreens and ask for processing only, no prints, uncut negatives. They don't even look; just take it off the machine and drop it in a canister.
Even if you don't have a scanner, you can do that, check through the negs, cut them yourself, remove any unwanted stuff, and then take the rest back for prints.

Properly stored, the integrity of the film should be pretty good. My question would be, when any nude photos were being taken, what was your plan/method to get them developed? Not that my question helps in any way!
If it's a concern of yours or your girlfriends, maybe build a nice fire with the disposables. Any collateral damage (like pics of your dog) won't be too hard to miss if you haven't seen them, don't remember taking them and they were taken with a disposable anyhow!

Pop Some popcorn, fix a drink, of course you need a movie not a new one. Snuggle on the couch and turn on the DVD. I think a robin williams movie perhaps " One Hour Photo" then go look for that Walgreens or CVS. Should stur up one interesting conversation. LOL
