What is your version?

It's 72 degrees, a gentle breeze is keeping the wind chime singing, the sun is about to slip below the trees across the lake, a wren is singing, I've got a frosty cold Maker's & Coke and I'm sending this from the deck courtesy of Wayne's World WiFi Hot Spot.

If it got any better, the Gummermint would tax it or declare it illegal.

It is pleasant. Until the 4 grand kids shatter the serenity. Even that is tolerable. With lots of Maker's & Coke. Grinning.

This was the most pleasant evening that I can recall this year. I was out watering my garden and transplanting seedling and sprouts to bigger containers.

LMAO!

I don't anymore. No worries. I made another TALL Maker's & Coke.

It's dark and cold and hard to type.

Maybe you need to get the other half a drink. May take care of the cold part.

I'd say that the only thing better would be an invitation to join you to enjoy that little slice of paradise, or at least post a photo (*ahem* photo forum).

I was talking with a guy at the coffee shop this evening, on the topic of smell based memories, and one popped into my head...

When I was 8 to 10 or so I used to go out and stay some nights in the summer with my grandmother (just two miles past the edge of town) and would sleep on the pullout sleeper sofa. My grandmother always had fresh sheets and the smell at bedtime on those fresh sheets was absolutely divine. Morning would roll around at about 5 or 5:30 and the whole house would be dark except for the light in the hood over the stove where my grandmother would be up frying bacon and sausage and cooking biscuits. The smell and small sounds from the kitchen would wake you up, but she wouldn't come get us kids for another 15 to 20 minutes so we could just lay there in the beds enjoying the wonderful smell of her breakfast cooking.

That my friend was paradise!

Nevermind -- I'll take care of it myself!

Sitting on the deck of the boat watching the sun set on the Caribbean. Water temperature just perfect for a dip. Rum punches in the icy pitcher. Fresh lobster in the pot and some Irish butter melting on the stove. The clang of the wind in the rigging. Knowing that at sunrise you'll be sailing to a new island on a fresh breeze. That's heaven.
Then the damned alarm clock goes off, you wake up and get ready to go to freakin work !!
