Stress - A Useless Thread - 03-31-2010, 10:32 AM

With all the stress we all have in our lives - spouses, kids, work, money, aging parents and the list goes on, I am having stress over bluebonnets. Seriously. What weekend to go? Where to go? I am trying to time Mother Nature which is never wise. I've finally just made the decision - for better or worse. Weekend - April 17-18, where - Hill Country, specifically Mason, Llano and Burnet counties. Lord Help Me. Pray with me for good weather. I warned you this was a useless thread.

I think you should be good. You may be just a little late for absolute peak bloom (it's still a bit too early to say for sure), but it should still be really nice. When I saw your post in the other thread about going to Brenham that weekend, I was going to suggest considering the Hill Country instead. The Hill Country tends to be slightly behind the Brenham area anyway, plus some are predicting that the Hill Country will have better wildflowers this year based on rain data.

The Hill Country is a lot more scenic, anyway. Wildflowers aside, the area around Brenham isn't really all that photogenic (certainly nothing to compare to the Hill Country).

Thanks, Jeff. I'm always a little late to something or other but I still think it will be good. I kept reading that the Brenham area was low on rain this past fall but the Hill Country was above average. I also love the Hill Country. Thanks again and your stamp of approval absolutely makes me feel better - seriously.
