Wall Color Suggestions - 04-05-2010, 09:51 AM

I am going to be turning part of my office into a shooting area and getting ready to paint. Currently the walls are white 14' ceiling, that is a natural wood color. One wall has a 12'wideX6' window. I started to paint the walls black, but got to thinking I may need to convert the space back to useable office area at some point in the future, and not sure I want to repaint again, over black.
So, my choice are:

a) White, but I lose control over bounced light
b) Black, great light control, but dark, and a pain to repaint if needed
c) Gray, fairly neutral here and easy to convert back to office?
D) YOUR THOUGHTS

When we moved from Boston to Texas we were rushed to buy a house, and the one we bought had grey walls in one room. That was a pain to paint also, and a very gloomy feeling to be in. If you want to be able to easily covert the room back to office, and keep it cheery when not being used to shoot in, how about a real pretty neutral color and black curtains along the wall that you can pull closed?

I suggest a light neutral color. Gray and black are bleak. You may also buy light blocking curtains for the window. You could go with flat white and re-engineer your light bounce, too.

if you are going to be using it for shooting -- why just one color

what about something like this:

maybe grey them out a bit, but one wall one color, and a second wall another color. Both of them warm and flattering to skin tones?

Nevermind -- I'll take care of it myself!
