Starting a new job next week - 04-05-2010, 11:46 AM

For those still looking for work, have hope! I didn't have a full-time job for nearly two years. Just a few weeks ago, the contract I'd been working on was terminated because of a lack of funds.

Then I got a call from a job I'd interviewed for in December, with a second interview in January. I was offered a job just last week.

The moral to the story is: don't give up. Most jobs have many more applicants than they'd normally get because so many people are looking for work. There were more than 70 applicants for this one job, and I was one of three finalists.

Hang in there and put yourself out there!

Among the best things about the job, besides a regular paycheck, is that it involves a lot of photography.

Money+taking lots of photos=ability to convince wife of the "need" for new gear over time.

I heard my company is hiring Hot Shots due to things are picking up. If you love to drive and able to work nights and weekends and must have good driving record, pass the drug test, have two years experience on delivering in the Houston Area to the refineries then email me.
You must have a 8 foot bed and two years or newer pick up truck. They need pipe racks bad. Percentage is higher for pipe racks. You must have a TWIC Card!

Todd, that's great! You are the 3rd person I know who has found a job in the past few weeks - all after a long period looking - so I definitely think things are starting to turn around, even if slowly. I hope the new job will be rewarding in more ways than just financially.
