Because there is money in celebrity.
If you or I owed that money they'd just take our stuff and no one would ever know.

Well, in this case, Annie has been screwing people (employees), and not paying bills for quite some time. Her chickens are coming home to roost.

Taking out a loan after you go into debt from borrowing money to begin with. Smart.

Sounds like my x-wife taught her money management skills.

Yes, we beat up Annie several months ago when she first had these problems. It is ALL about celebrity and not so much about photography. Most of her photos could be taken as well or better by many photographers on this forum. Her fame is mostly about access to the right subjects and a huge support team.

No sympathy from me. With the amount of money she has made and inherited, there is no excuse for having financial issues.

I don't know if I'd go THAT far. You should know that a good photographer is a lot about how you interact with your subject and how well you build trust with them. She is a true pro at getting people to do almost anything for her. That is why she has so many iconic images. Most people couldn't convince the same subjects to go so far for a photo...

With that said, yes... it does also have a LOT to do with name recognition. Her technical ability can be copied by any competent no-name photog.
