I've posted my PAD every day and posted links on my yahoo lists and nobody responds. Are they not responding because they're awful or do people just not comment. I was really hoping for some comments, be they good or not.

Hello Debbie! I'm not familiar with the term "PAD", but I searched your posts here and found this : pad Photo Gallery by momad30044 at pbase.com I assume this is what you are referring to.

It's been my experience that flickr is a very comment-rich photo community, although there tends to be more "good" comments than "useful".

This forum is a good place to get honest feedback, but my advice would be to post a few photos directly in the thread -- not everyone will follow a link.

I've been posting them at pad Photo Gallery by momad30044 at pbase.com

I'd really love some comments...even if they're really critical. I'm really struggling to learn to take better photos.

Pardon my ignorance as I'm new to the list...so, do I just insert a photo in my e-mail?

To post a photo into a thread, there are just two steps.

Step 1 : Get the full image URL to the .jpg file, for example :

http://i.pbase.com/o2/69/206469/1/12..._0416copy1.jpg

Step 2 : Wrap the image URL in the IMG tags, like this :

[img_]http://i.pbase.com/o2/69/206469/1/123365531.MGkHcOfh.DSC_0416copy1.jpg[/img_]

(I added a "_" to the IMG tags so that you can see how to do it. Remove those to get the result below.)

Technically, this isn't a list, it's a Website that emails notifications. I don't know if one can add photos directly to notification replies or not.

I personally don't look at PAD's (Photo a Day) links. Most of what I see in these types of threads is just ok, or people just taking junk photos to say they took a photo today. If you would like feed back then put one or two up and share it with us. BUT just a couple. too many and people won't respond.
The simple way to add a photo is to use that cute little postcard with the mountain in it in the above the reply box. Type in your text. Locate the photo that is hosted in your pbase account copy that url and then click on the postcard button and drop in your url and you are good to go.

agreed, I will almost never follow a link to see a photo from a photo forum. It kind of defeats the purpose of going to a photo forum in my mind. So many images are posted on an hourly bases that trying to see and comment on them means the eaiser ones will get feedback and the extenal links will get past over. I dont think people are trying to be mean, at least I am not.
