Just curious if anyone has been successful in registering for an appliance upgrade? (http://www.txrebates.org)

I've been trying since 7:00am this morning - but not luck. Website keeps timing out.

Anyone?

A teacher friend of mine had 25 students over two class periods trying to get on, no luck.

So, basically $23 million was reserved in a matter of 5-6 hours? There should have been a better way to do this...

Something is not right here! Seems to me that people have their hands in the pot before they actually qualified. Maybe some politicians too.

I got a reservation, but it is/was a major time waster and another example of government at work.

Finally got on the web site at 12:30. Got a busy signal when I tried to call. The only reason I kept at it was the $1k+ to replace a heat pump. The bad part is now I have the pleasure of dealing with a rebate company out of White Bear Lake, MN. Remember the pain of getting $150 of Canon rebate checks.

I can't think of better way to demonstrate to students just how "do gooder government ideas" actually work. A fine example of hype!

From the news report I saw a week or two ago, the "when will it be paid" was still a question and was not specified.

This program obviously looks better on a political resume than it does in reality. -Sigh-
