One of the things I do to help gain market share in my area is substitute teach. This past week one of the senior students produced a DVD in class which I loaded in my laptop and showed to the rest of the group. I don't remember the name of the DVD, but essentially.. it was an amateur movie of a student car crash. The film covered the EMT's arriving on scene, victim extrication from the vehicle, victims dying on the scene, victims transported to the hospital and more that we didn't get to during the period.

Here's the intriguing part. This is put on by the students and the community.. and the student body will be on the side of the street watching the events unfold (from what I understand).

The student with the DVD from a previous re-enactment asked me if I could provide video coverage, but digital video isn't something I do. I'm more than willing to cover the event with a camera, but thought I'd toss this out there for the serious amateur videographers on the forum.

This isn't a paying gig and I'm not sure what kind of deliverables the students are looking for. If you are interested in doing this and are sure you can do a good job, PM me and I'll provide a few more details including the date, school, location, along with trying to answer any other questions you may have.. if I can.

These events have been happening for years and years. I think MADD sponsors them. I remember a couple at my high school back in the early 1990's. I would guess it might be a good way for someone to practice taking news video footage, without actually getting in the way of EMT's and causing them to lose a life.
