I don't know if that is a movie that needs remaking. John Wayne is tops in my book.

never saw the original.... Will probably see this one, I really like Matt Damon. Also since it's shooting in the Austin area(Granger), I might actually head out there and try and take some pics.

This is what we get when the overpaid elites in Hollywood can't seem to come up with any new ideas, aside from trying to ruin the classics done by better, more creative, people.

I've never seen the original, not really a John Wayne fan.

But I'm looking forward to this one.
The only thing that would make it better is if it was directed by Tim Burton, stared Johnny Depp and...............wait for it................in 3D!

Jeeze, I posted this so that some people may go out to the town next month and maybe get some shots of the set before it is taken down-get an 1890's style town without having to drive a great distance to a set.

BTW I plan to be there in early May to do just that, dad and my grandparents and some greatgrandparents are from there and one was actually an officer of the bank mentioned in the Austin American Statesman article about the movie. (my dad wants to see it too since he knew what the town was like in the early 1930's before a lot of the buildings were demolished.)

SMILE, when you say that, pilgrim!

Folks are certainly welcome to go and enjoy themselves. None the less, remaking this movie is bound to draw strong reactions.

For the record, I'm not saying John Wayne sucks or anything. I just haven't seen any of his movies, hence me not being a fan.

Side note: To be honest, when I watch older movies, I think a lot of the acting is over the top and very forced.
I get they were great at the time, but still.....

I totally agree with this. Most of those old movies have over-the-top acting, it's like they think they're in a stage-play and not a movie.
