Will be an interesting season, can tell they have focus on Phil in some of the cuts, etc.

Yeah - glad I checked the DVR this afternoon - had to program for the 11pm reshowing so the wife can fill in her DC addiction. Could not tape the initial airring because she also needs to fill in her Glee & Biggest Loser addictions ( :D) Thank goodness the NCIS pairing tonight was a repeat or there would have been chaos, which is being delayed until next week.

My suspicion is that "focus" was a result of editing. Call it paying last respects, if you will. They had plenty of time to put together the footage that they wanted between Phil's unfortunate demise and yesterdays season opener. I'll miss Phil, he was my favorite among the captains.

Interesting premier. Sad about Phil. I am slightly relieved to know if doesn't happen during king crab season after the two Jakes switched boats.

I have tonight's episode dvr'd and just started watching it. This episode where Phil Harris suffered the stroke, I wonder what his son told him exaggerated his condition.

No doubt.. and you could see in Jake's face that he was blaming himself.

But honestly, Phil was told not to go back out on that boat at the beginning of the season... he rolled the dice and lost.

I'll miss him, he was my favorite of the captains.

I'll have to catch the re-air, I forgot that it was on. I don't really watch it religously like some people, but tend to catch it in marathons or reairs.

Phil was great, not sure I will continue to watch the show without him.

He lived a very interesting life, a real roller coaster type life... him talking about his early days of fishing were very entertaining.

After 2 seasons that I thought were a bit boring (from the aspect of TV, the job is insane, hard and something I would never do), this season has been very entertaining and probably the best thing on TV right now.

I was stunned when Jake told his dad. I should have seen it, but damn, it was just so raw. I've been keeping tabs on the Cornelia Marie's Discovery.com blog, Josh has mentioned that Discovery Channel helped Jake get the rehab he needed, and that he's doing better now.

He must blame himself, you could see it in a couple of the shots... I can't imagine what they've gone through.

While I don't watch the show religiously, Phil was my favorite. I'll miss him!
