I am accustomed to reading about complaints of wanna be photographers thinking they can photograph their nephew's wedding without training or experience.

I guess here is the place where I gripe about how ya'll are bringing down the price for laborers who take pride in their stock in trade!

BTW Linoleum is a generic term like 'Kleenex' is to tissue.

You are right and this is why when I need wallpaper done I always hire somone who knows what they are doing to do it. I can do lots of things but will gladly admit this is not one of them.

Only if we are doing the work for other people and passing it off as us knowing what we are doing!

My dry humor never comes across in text..

This is a strip of wallpaper 9'x23' that my brother and I hung. Let's see somebody do this in less than an hour without wallpaper:

Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Wallpaper has fallen into disfavor of late.
A significant number of my jobs now are to remove wallpaper for painters to do their treatments.
Painters dread wallpaper removal, good thing for me.

BTW, in the above post, it would take me about 2 minutes to remove that mural. It has a lot to do with proper preparation!

Well, as entertaining as the thought of you on your hands and knees was....

I just couldn't let you do that.

you and my husband think alike...lol... he said something about finding better things to do in that particular position.... lol...

Well - we got it all up.... and subsequently decided NOT to put laminate in the pantry/laundry room...talk about a PITA project. We got the laminate up, then checked the foundation for level, and found several low spots, so we put down some self-leveling concrete... which didn't self level... so we had to sand the hell out of it... and ended up with a 2 inch layer of concrete dust....

Finally... we got it down... we have just a bit to do at the front entrance of the house... with 2 kids and long breaks... it's one of the longest projects I've ever done. And one of the most insane...

Note to self: When you haven't had daily interactions with your spouse, don't take on projects like this... we've both spent the last 6 months 'in charge' of whatever daily projects we were doing... with no one to discuss what we are doing... or to even desire input from... and both of us 'helping' the other ended up annoying the heck out of the other...so we had some moments of taking a deep breath and counting to 100... lol... we work really well together...it just took some time to get back to familiar ground of give & take.

I did get 3 dozen roses in the last 10 days... a dozen at a time..lol...

It also had a bit of 'The Money Pit' occurring. When we pulled up the carpet at the back door, we saw some dirt... at least I thought it was dirt... but to make a short story long... turns out we had some uninvited guests taking up residence in that back wall... they were visiting from down under. Termites.

It's one of those annoying blessings...if we hadn't installed the floor, we might not have noticed until something really bad happened... go figure...but we are having Termidor treatment on Thursday... to the tune of about $600 with tax, etc... if anyone has had this done and that's an outrageous price - let me know...

To the nice person who brought up the asbestos info - house is only 6 years old... so I think we are okay with that regards.

To the wall paper hanger guy - I've done wallpaper before, and it's alot of fun... lol...but I will never, EVER - EVER attempt to do linoleum again. I will hire someone to do it, and sit back and enjoy my coffee while they do it...
