Ayuh, I saw that one yesterday, and it was also worth reading.

When I was a kid, my grandpa would go down to the newsstand every Sunday morning to pickup the Sunday editions of the San Francisco Chronicle and the San Francisco Examiner, along with the mags Life, The Saturday Evening Post, Colliers, Time, People, etc. The two newspapers had some different comic strips, and I had my favorite ones among them. It would take awhile to read the comics, an then go through all of those mags, and it was an enjoyable routine that I miss. Today, most of the mags are gone, along with one of the newspapers, and the remaining newspaper isn't fit to wrap garbage with anymore.

So, were the Life photographers back then, the original paparazzi? This series of photos was only made possible by bribing several people with Scotch, trespassing on private property, and then following a dead body from morgue to the cemetary, snapping photos of loved ones in mourning.

Not trying to start a flame war here, but how does what he did differ from what the hated paprazzi do today? I'm sure the Life photogs did their job with a lot more respect and professionalism than today's paparazzi, but it makes you wonder if Life started it all, so many years ago....
