The Good Guys (2010 TV series) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Looks to be shooting a couple blocks from my house today, may go wander over there later to see if I can see anything, they actually had a police officer at one end of the street a little while ago doing security.

I've seen a lot of shooting around downtown lately. Didn't bother to stop and see what it was specifically. It all looked like big city style cabs and fast cars in the background scenes with sexy actors... but, that explains half the shows on TV right now.

They are shooting all over the central city area, downtown, east dallas, cedars, fair park and maybe even a few other places. Don't know where they are basing their actions from for this series-maybe in Los Colinas at the studios for the indoor shooting? This is like the 6th TV series show shot in Dallas with Dallas and Walker being the two biggest (not counting Barney since that was all studio work) down to Prison Break and a few years ago one called "silk Stockings" that was a late night CBS series that was in rotation with a couple other shows.

I'm going to go poke around the area in a few minutes. (they are shooting in a neighborhood near Swiss Ave today).

The show looks pretty cool from the previews. You can see some of downtown in the previews also.

I ended up talking to one of the lighting guys, he was just setting at an equipment truck.

The crew shooting this was pretty much the same crew that shot Walker, he actually had been with the crew through the whole series (200+ episodes), so they are able to get things done pretty quickly since they all know how to work together. They are shooting episode 6 right now and are set to shoot the first 13 episodes and then take a 1 month break and then shoot the second 13 so the series is a full shoot for the first year. He didn't think that they would be using Los Colinas, heard that they were looking at leasing a large warehouse elsewhere to build the sound stages in since the Studios at Las Colinas are fairly expensive for a series shoot-he said that they work better for commercials or a movie where you have the "big names" fly in and then are in town for just a couple days. Currently they are using some space in the Fair Park area.

Said something about a Series called the Deep had shot in the area which has already been cancelled without airing all the shows-said that they could tell that it probably wouldn't make it.

The principle actors are recognizable since one was on the West Wing for most of the series and the other is Tom Hanks son, saw the West Wing dude yesterday when they were breaking down the one shot and before setting up the night shot-he was working on his lines for the next scene so didn't approach him. They had at least 5 Dallas Cops in Uniform doing security-basically keeping people off of the street that the shoot was going on- I was talking to the light guy the next block over.

One funny thing was the 4 portolets that I saw all had airconditioners in them!

He said that some of the Dallas industry people were down working on True grit and that Shreveport had 4 movies/tv shows in production and that there were a couple in New Orleans and he said a couple more across Texas right now so things are looking pretty good for the people who do all the real work in these things are finding work.

He also confirmed that Chuck Norris still has a ranch in the area, he said that he had been with Chuck to Bush's new house in Dallas a couple times.

Also the first Jet Pack (Made for the US Army) is in the North Texas area on display in the offices of the guy who is the person who does the Jet Pack flights around the world. He also said that you can actually buy the parts and build one in a small shop and it will work but most likely you would kill yourself learning to fly it. BTW the max weight of the pilot is 185 lbs.
