engadget and gizmodo have had it for a few days now. If the case stays the same it looks nice
engadget had a full write up a few days ago
a better screen, not necessarily bigger though
camera and flash on the back
camera on the front
the case is redesigned, buttons are redesigned etc
seems to be physically smaller, but weigh a little more
overall a good looking phone from the pics posted.

If you ask what separates a blogger from a journalist, these unprofessional posts are the perfect examples.
Regardless of how that person lost the prototype phone, he should have leave him, first and last name, web address...etc out of the incident. Instead, they use that kid to gain millions more views with childish posts how they obtained the stolen phone, and comments replied to Apple suggesting don't fire him over a "fxxking" phone....
Now, i doubt that person will find another job again in this industry.

Ever consider that the "loss" of the phone was orchestrated by the man who is possibly the world's all time number one marketing genius?

Overheard in the back room at Apple Headquarters:
"How can we generate millions of dollars of free advertising for the new phone without spending any money ? If we were to let some of those gadget web sites get a look at the phone, they'd spread it all over the 'net ! Who wants to "lose" their phone over at Joes Bar and Grill ?"

so let me get this straight -- some guy sold something that he knew was not his for 5K and an online information outlet bought something from a guy knowing full well that it was not his to sell...
So tell me again how this isn't theft?
Might have been a stupid mistake for that poor guy to leave the phone laying in a bar on a bar stool, but everyone elses actions after that are criminal.

Nevermind -- I'll take care of it myself!

I don't think it was criminal. Guy loses phone, guy who finds phone lets Gizmodo examine phone for large sum of money, once someone comes forward to claim phone it is returned to its owner. Where is the crime?

To tell you the truth, I didn't know that Apple was even designing a new iPhone until this incident happened. Now we're talking about it on various message boards and we had a long conversation about it in our house last night. Seems like good marketing to me.

Allan | Right, fabricating such silly story is not Apple style. Steve Jobs is not 13 years old. Their hype-up marketing great at building momentum and expectation til the last second. You get to see the new phone presented by Steve on stage, but never prototype appearance to the public, let alone tearing it down.

Seems like good marketing to me. | New iPhone news has been in the tech news for quite some time. Of course until now it was all speculation, which is how it always goes with Apple products. Traditionally, Apple uses a well media covered event to announce significant new products. They take advantage of the coverage generated by such events, and I don't see the leopard changing it's spots in this case.
Hasn't anyone here ever lost, or misplaced their cell phone? The fact that the iPhone comes with the feature "Find my iPhone" shows that it's a fairly common occurrence. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
