Can you tell if this is a spider next to the bee, or is it some sort of aphid type thing?

That's a crab spider waiting for a meal...if the bee flew away it had a lucky day for sure!

And since it is a crab spider, it is not an insect. Its an arachnid.

The bee, however, is an insect.

Oh, and its a really pretty shot, too..

Heh, too many letters.. I like to use "bug" for the generic term... my wife prefers "critter" or when she's really upset by it "creepy crawlie"
