3D Camera - 05-03-2010, 11:07 AM

Saw one in operation at the wheels and keels show this weekend. Very strange looking device. The guy had a model and was walking around getting pictures of her in front of or in cars. I would love to see the results. The three lenses were strange to look at. Watching all three turn as he focused was weird.

That's one model of 3D camera. Not all of them have 3 lenses. Note, also, that this camera is a film camera. Digital 3D cameras are also on the market.

I use a variety of techniques to shoot 3D. I can use just my regular Canon 20D by itself to shoot left and right frames, or I can use a Loreo 3D Lens in a Cap

Wow that is interesting looking.

I can't imagine buying 3 lenses!

Now I'm wondering about viewing images from a 3 lens setup. Viewing normal stereo images isn't rocket science, but it only uses two lenses, or two images to produce the 3D effect. Anyone have a clue here?

If I Recall Correctly, the 3rd lens is the viewfinder lens. The other two lenses are for shooting the photo. The photographer does not see through more than one lens.

Ahhhhhhh, of course! Sometimes the obvious is not obvious enough.
