NASA Pad Abort 1 test successful - 05-06-2010, 08:15 AM

Went off at 8AM CST without a hitch. You should be able to watch the replays here on the LIVE channel:

NASA - NASA TV

This was a test of the Launch Abort System (LAS) to make sure it can lift the crew module, Orion, safely away from the launchpad in the event of a failure.

Unfortunately I was not able to go and take photos.

Yeah, I wish I could have been there. Even more, I wish I could get paid to photograph these events!

You and me both. My manager was there, but he isn't the photographic type.
