catching up on school photographer equipment changes - 05-06-2010, 01:39 PM

I have been retired(?) now for some time, but spent many years as a school photographer, as well as a studio owner, still have my camerez 46mm slr. But I understand that media is pretty much history. So what is being used NOW?
Back when I did it we used a 4 light formula system, and no kid left the stool if we weren't sure mom was going to get a picture to be proud of... but to keep track of the individual student the camera had an ID system. What kind of equipment are they using to handle identification of the student etc. thanks

I don't know either but I'd imagine the lighting part would at least be the same...

There is a user on here who is a pro school photographer, I think he works for Olan Mills. I cant remember his name, but I know he uses monolights and an Olympus E-1.

Can't help with the question, but welcome! I lived in Kellogg for eight years, and my mother still lives in Harrison :-)

This is a project that I am shamefully behind on. Thinking I would have more time not working a job is not true.. between firewood, and equipment repair and and honey do's there is little time... I just picked up an extended full photo lab color and B&W from and estate. and add it to what I have and I will be very well equipped for film/paper processes... I also have extensive equip for digital up to a 44" epson inkjet... and now back into medium and large format equipment too. And now facing adding 24x24 more ft to my cabin to handle all the equipment and work space, so this page may sit a while longer... but here is a link I have up... http://idahophotoman.110mb.com/ I have some new stuff that needs to go there I'll try, some interesting Osprey shots...
