Background Ideaas - 05-10-2010, 09:33 AM

I am finishing out a studio space and now its time for backgrounds. I HATE paper, so that only leaves me a few options. I wanted to do Vinyl Linolum and paint the back side, but that means it would have to always be :out" as it is to heavy to roll up every time. Muslin has a tendency to wrinkle but is easy to move and store. Then there is the Vinyl backgrounds that are better than paper, and lighter than the linolum, but I have to pratical experience with them.
Ideas folks?
I want to be at least 10" wide.

I used my hi key sweep more than any other background It was painted linoleum. I can show you how to properly install it. And yes it was permanent, but I used muslins on top of it all the time. I had about a dozen muslins on a track so they were really east to change out. They were hung with clips , so the were easy to take down and take on location.

When I used to assist at the studio at JCP's headquarters, they used a ton of linoleum. It just takes two people to roll it up. Every time there would be a new catalog or advertising shoot, we'd have to paint a new roll. I did a lot of painting, cleaning and prepping there...
