I hate to be that person that "doesnt know where to start a thread"...but...

I got a call today from a guy that was referred to me by my friend to do a photoshoot. He loved the work I did for my friend and wanted me to do a shoot with him for an album. He's putting out a Country Music album, thing is, is that he is out of town until July and I am moving to Washington in 3 weeks.

I told him that I would try to find someone else for him when he gets back. He said he is willing to pay whatever price that is reasonable (he didnt define reasonable, and I was on my lunch break from my "real job" and didnt have too much time to go into price with him).

He called from a 512 area code, so he's Austin/Lampassas-ish area. I forgot to ask where he lives.

Any takers? Please PM me.

I'm sorry I can't help with the photography, but I have to ask. Moving to Washington State (Fort Lewis, perhaps) or Washington DC?

Fort Lewis. I wouldn't mind it so much if it were DC.

Give him a price that includes airfare and lodging from Washington or give him the option of coming to you in Washington. If he likes your work that much he might just go for it.

It sounds like you're not thrilled about moving up there. It'll be different than Killeen for sure, but give it a chance. Western Washington is a beautiful area and there is a lot to do. Contrary to popular belief, it doesn't rain as much there as everyone thinks. Of course, I'm biased since I grew up in Kent, about half way between Seattle and Tacoma.

From a photographic standpoint, there are absolutely fantastic places to take pictures, from the Pacific ocean about two hours away, to Puget Sound practically out your back door, to Mount Rainier or St. Helens one to two hours away. Plus...you can stand outside in the summer and NOT SWEAT, even when it's 90 degrees out! The days get to the upper 80's but the nights will cool down to the 50's or 60's so you can sleep with the windows open.

My apologies...I enjoy Texas, but can you tell I'm just a tad homesick?

If you have questions about the area, please feel free to PM me. I'd be more than happy to help or answer if I can.

Thanks for all the Washington info. My husband has a lot of family up there and we've visited before. But I'm a Florida girl and I enjoy the sun and beach and surf and warmth lol. I'm sure I'll be ok up there, but the thought of living up there forever bothers me. My husband wants to retire up there. And like I said, I'm a florida girl and my whole family is in florida. I love his family, but they're not my family...so to say.

Now THAT, I can relate to. Florida is a lovely state, but I think I would feel the same way about moving there as you feel about going to
Washington. I love the mountains, the plains of Eastern Washington, and the cold weather. Florida (and Texas) are nice, but they're not "home." (I can see all the true Texans coming down my street as I write this: )

Are your husband's relatives in the Seattle-Tacoma area? Or other parts of Washington? My in-laws are over in Eastern Washington amd my family has moved back to Montana.

Maybe when your husband retires you can work a deal where you spend part of the year in Washington and part in Florida?

The're all between Tacoma and Seattle. 1 cousin in Tacoma, one in Tukwilla, and and 2 Aunts/Uncles in Federal Way. His parents live only 14 hours away in Cali btween Sacramento and San Francisco.

The closest relative that Ill have is my cosin in Ft Worth. Everyone else is in Fl. I'm not too concerned about it though. I get all pissy right before a move anyways lol.
