Kind of like this scene from Family Guy: YouTube - Stewie Griffin on Photography I think it would be helplful to your photography to get out of your element a little and try to make a shot rather than simply capturing a candid. Digital film is cheap is if you mess up, you can just try again :)
BTW, is there any particular reason why you have a D40 and a D3000? They seem very close in their ability and more importantly their limitations. |
I agree with you whole heartedly, I need to get out of my element a bit. Its hard when you work 60 hours a week. Right now im trying to get into the habit of carrying a camera with me everywhere I go.
As far as my gear goes, the D40 is mainly my wifes. The D3000 is mine. I use old nikon glass, so buying something like a D90 wouldnt help me any. Its still not going to meter, and it wont take my non-ai lenses anyway, so whats the point? I prefer to have smaller cameras that are less "in your face" when im shooting candids.
Im trying really hard to get into street photography, but im doing it on film, so the time it takes to turn it around into Flickr posts is a bit longer than digital.
I appreciate your comments though, and I dont find them offensive. I think youve stated when ive been feeling about my work in general anyway.
