My life is an open (talk) book by CaptainTom - 05-25-2010, 12:26 AM

Some of you know the gory details regarding my recent change in relationship status. If you don't, just imagine the worst and then you'll be close.

So, I'm over it.....tada

Now comes the hard part. What do i do with myself now that I don't have that "someone special" attached to me at the hip ?
How do I find that new person that I want to spend time with ?
Match.com is too freakin complicated. Too many questions.
The bar scene is not my style.
I don't go to church unless they pay me (musician).
The vast majority of my friends were "her" friends if you know what I mean.
I'm working on a new network, but hey maybe I'm not that likable after all.

So if you have a nice lady in mind here's my ideal person.
35-60 (negotiable)
non smoker (not negotiable)
intelligent (at least smart enough to pretend to care)
not married (negotiable)
cute or better (I'm easy)
rich (well why not?)
blind (makes for less photography criticism).

other than that, I'm pretty open.

Edit: Nymphomaniac ( we've all got to die sometime )

Take time to become the person you were before meshing of two into one. I tried the internet dating thing about 8 months after my split with my wife if 12 years and it was a waste as I was not really ready. eHarmony, match.com, plenty of fish, whatever the hell of the name of the one on FB is called. Full of lies and rejection. Maybe it was just my experience but if you are gonna do the internet dating thing and you have ANY standards, expect a lot of time sitting in front of a computer casting a VERY large net in a lot of ponds. One word of warning, if they dont have a full body picture on their profile, there is a reason. And remember when they say they are "average" body size, average now in women is 12-14. So if she is 5'-5" and says she has an average body and no full body picture....... Just be prepared. I am not the picture of the perfect body and I never hid it, notice I said hid, I stopped wasting my time on those sites, but I met girls for dates that said they were average and when I finally met them they were bigger around than they were tall. Thats fine but dont try and hide it, its gonna come out in the end....

You didn't specify whether you prefer a natural born lady or not. I probably know a few 'ladies' who didn't always used to be one....

Maybe going to the Sex and City party in Fort Worth on Friday. Over 450 women are going!

"Come see all the style, glamour and drama on Friday, May 28, and experience opening weekend Hollywood style with a private screening and VIP after party. Grab your girlfriends, slip on your favorite pair of stilettos and walk the pink carpet with other fashionable and fabulous ladies in Fort Worth. Must be over 21 to attend."

If Captain Tom is going... I'm gonna go just to take photos of him walking in stilettos....

Personally, if I'd just gotten out of a relationship, I would not be looking to enter another one so soon. I'd be trying to figure out why it ended, what part I played in its demise, and what I need to improve upon to lessen the chances of it happening again. However, maybe you're doing this already, I don't know.

I agree 100%... Two years later and I am just now finally starting to understand what it is I want/need from life/relationships. Until you can define that and understand what went wrong in the last relationship, you arent ready to move on. If you think you didnt play a role in the demise then you need to look a little deeper, no relationship is one sided...

Tom is OLD! He doesn't have enough time to sit around and analyze it...

Y'all take life entirely too seriously.... if it aint meant to be, it aint meant to be. You've missed out on two years of fun and happiness that you'll never get back.

Dude, you're well liked in photography circles... but you probably want someone with money, not a photographer. LOL

Almost any city/town has what you need, just stay away from the filling stations in Huntsville, as those con's-wives/girlfriends are looking for a way to make money to help their con-honeys.

Thats a mighty big assumption, you dont even know me. So how could you possible know if I "missed out on two years of fun"? I learned that I dont need someone else to make me happy. I am resposible for my own happiness, no one else can or should be. Simple as that. Co-dependent is no way to go through life, fat drunk and stupid on the other hand.....
