Just heard on the news this morning that WalMart is cutting the price of the iPhone 3GS in half. Its now only $97 with a two year contract. They are cutting the price in anticipation of the release of the new model.

It is when I just upgraded to the 3g a little over a month and a half ago!!

that actually sounds like a stupid human error then...the new 4th Gen phone has been in the news just as long, if not longer, and everyone has been saying "wait!!!!!"

again, not a bad thing and certainly not Wal-Marts fault. You did it to yourself.

As a true value shopper I admittedly love shopping a Walmart. I guess I probably fit right in with the trashy people that you don't see at the upscale places. Of course I was born and lived in a house with no running water until I was about six and never lived in a house with AC (Texas summers) until I went to college. Sometimes some of Walmart's markdowns are unbelievable and their normal prices are quite often as low as most other places sale prices. :)

you're complaining? I bought the 1st gen @ $500 w/ a 2 yr contract. Still have it and it is about to become the most expensive ipod i've ever had.

Hey - I'm happy as a clam! My 7th grader pulls off straight A's this last semester (she missed it by ONE class - she got an 89 in English... oops!) and I'm on the hook for an Iphone.... so $97 works for me! ;0)

the new one is coming soon...and sites are starting to put out covers and such.

There's even a full white version coming.

Apple's website is also looking like it's going to be removing the 3G very soon, as it's not longer possible to purchase it directly through Apple.
