Now if you tie him/her up and pour rock salt in the open sucking chest wound, then I would say that is indeed cruel... Not undeserved, but cruel.

Deadly force is deadly force.
Discharging a firearm at someone is deadly force. I would not shoot someone with rock salt. FWIW, if it is to the point of needing to shoot someone.... Some people just need killin.

Kyle, this is Texas and it aint about killin. That's for the Big Screen. Deadly Force is for stopping. If they stop permanently, they will have a bad day. And, no, rock salt does not assure a stop.

I was always more accurate with the 9 than the 45. That's why I keep the 9 close. The 9 may not have the stopping power, but with the two clips in the drawer, I'll hit them enough to stop them.

It is just having experience with our litigious system, and having been taught for the past 17 years to NEVER use handloads or the lawyers would have a field day with you is where I am coming from. Quote:

Sig P-220, .45 ACP, exceptionally easy to shoot, and shoot well. Except for a three year period when we were issued P-229's in .357 SIG, I have carried this gun for my whole career. Nice and light on the belt.

I have heard this about law enforcement personnel, but not with regard to private citizens. Specifically, the context that I heard something like this was with regards to LE sharpshooters and fire-formed hand-loads used to increase accuracy.

Why all this hate on the 9mm?? I preferred the 9 to the .45, and I would say that my 9mm with hydrashocks would do more than just stun.

Hey,
It's nice to know that there are so many fellow gun owners who shoot more than pictures. My favorite is my .357 snubby (see my avatar).

Seriously, why all the 9mm hate? I think i pointed this out last time but people with smaller frames and non constant practice fare better with a smaller caliber weapon. I guess yall are allll huge. Best home defense is a shotty, nothing like cocking one that will make a thief/robber/intruder pee his pants.

When I worked in the SF Bay Area I carried a 9mm for the extra rounds (days of lots of cocaine, gangs and shootings), before high capacity larger calibers were readily available. Came to Texas and started carrying a Kimber .45 and now I have switched to the Springfield .40. 16 rounds of .40 is hard to beat. Although, SA XD model has 13+1 rounds of .45 so that may be in my future. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
