Are the Ft. Worth police still looking for you?

I am going. Just not sure when....yet.

I can be Ft. Worth in about 3.5 hrs.

The Carter is right uphill from the Kimball and I think across from the Museum of Natural Science.

The Will Rogers auditorium is close by also.

It would make a good weekend.

Does the Amon Carter also archive the Eliot Porter collection? I didn't see any mention of it in the exhibits??

Anybody coming into town to go to the Amon Carter could give me a call and I'd be happy to meet up and go with you if I'm available. I also know where the best BBQ is and most anything else interesting in Ft. Worth., especially photographically.

I'll be a guide. cost = two cold beers. ( I'm done after two ) or one margarita at Joe T's.

I went to the Ansel Adams exhibit this morning, and I overheard someone asking the receptionist about the Eliot Porter collection. She said his work is archived, and they only bring out a few of his pieces at a time. I didn't notice any of his photos on display, but then again I was there to see the Ansel Adams exhibit.

Jim, what is your review of the Adams exhibit.
I've seen his stuff all over the world.
I still go see it whenever I can.

It's a small exhibit - about 40 photographs. If you go to the Amon Cater very often, you've probably seen a lot of these works. If you live in the DFW area, it's worth the visit, but I'm not sure I'd drive all the way from Houston just for this. Others may disagree.

David

Yes, Dr. Porter left his archives with the Amon Carter.

I was lucky enough to be there at the official presentation.

Dr. Porter spoke for a while, then signed books for a very long time.

I have one of those books.

When they have a show of his work it is worth the time to go see it.

How about Edelweiss?

But Joe T's is a Ft Worth classic.

I've never seen Adams' work in person, so I'm definitely gonna see the exhibit. We have to make a trip to Ft. W anyway to register one of our cars at Carswell, a chore we've been putting off, so yay....two reasons to go to Ft. W now!
