Yeah he was one of my favourite actors- Rebel Without a Cause- G[IANT (both with James Dean), then Easy Rider, Apocalypse Now and his masterpiece in my book BLUE Velvet along with a lot of TV.
So Dennis Hopper is kinda #3 of the TV Icons who left us this week- Art Linklettter, Gary Coleman and now Dennis. (1936-2010). It was nice that he finally Got a star on the Walk of Fame before he died and he could see it.

Now you done went and done it John.....

I'm gonna have to find the movie and watch it again....

I guess part of growing older is having to see the oldtimers die off..

Interesting thing I heard about the movie, there are several scenes where lens flair occurs and it was done on pupose by the cinemetographer/cameraman.

Also the original Bike and a couple others were stolen right after the shoot had finished and were never recovered so anyone saying that they have the original bike from the movie is lying!

"Some of the weird lighting effects in the LSD scene came about because a can of film was accidentally exposed when it was opened before being developed."

"There were 2 bikes used for Captain America, one was stolen the other was burned in the end of the movie. The burned bike was later restored by Peter Fonda and was sold to John Parham and can be seen in the National Motorcycle Museum in Anamosa Iowa."
